With rising food prices, climate change, and an increasingly fragile food system, there's never been a better time to learn one of humanity's oldest skills: saving seeds.

Join us for Seed Saving in Community and learn how to save seeds from food crops, build local resilience, and become part of a community seed shed. NOTE: This class costs about the price of 2-3 seed packets and is a fundraiser for the Richmond Grows Seed Lending Library. Participants will get the slide deck, speaker notes, and other resources. The materials can be used to teach the class in your community, if you are interested in teaching it or sharing with others who might be.

Check out our new resources on teaching kids about seed saving. The seed saving coloring books are free, downloadable, and customizable. Available in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Seed Saving Bookmarkers

We're excited to have created a series of bookmarkers on How to Save Seeds and Why Local Seeds Matter! that seed libraries can distribute to members. You can print them yourselves and mix and match the front and back. We are hoping to partner with a regional seed company who can distribute at a reasonable price due to bulk printing prices.
